Help re identifying fowler

Post by royjkatz » Tue Dec 28, 2010 8:19 am

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and wishing you a happy & healthy New Year!

Below is an email I received from a Nita Thurman (thurmannita@yahoo.com). I did ask her if it was a flintlock or percussion. She wrote back that she thinks it was originally flintlock then converted to percussion. She would greatly appreciate any help. If you can aid her, please email directly at the address above. Thanks. Roy

i came across your e-mail and the organization while googling for information. maybe you can aim me in the right direction. I have a kentucky long barrel fowler, said to be .60 caliber. The name Steele & Lathrop is alonside an engraving of a dog flushing two ducks or geese, with a fence and plants; and the word J Sutherland Flint is engraved on another piece of brass. I have been trying to locate all of these names without sucess. any suggestions?
