ALRA-NY GATHERING - OCTOBER 12 - 14, 2012

Post by royjkatz » Thu Jun 07, 2012 9:52 am

ALRA-NY is pleased to announce a gathering to be held October 12-13-14, at the homestead of Mark Walter in northeast Pennsylvania. The gathering will give us an opportunity to have fun, to meet each other, to renew friendships and make new ones, to teach and to learn. Participants will be able to practice and hone their 18th c skills, and Patriot members will be able to complete requirements that will allow them to advance to higher skill levels. Among the activities planned are shooting competitions, fishing, hawk throwing, flint knapping, ball casting and perhaps we will be able to set up a Simon's Gauntlet. There will be a “pot luck” dinner on Saturday night, we hope everyone will bring or prepare a dish to be shared.

We extend an invitation to all our ALRA brothers and sisters. As one who has traveled extensively throughout the country to attend events, Roy has experienced the legendary ALRA hospitality many times over, and we will try to extend the same courtesies at this gathering. If anyone wants to "fly in" we will make arrangements for pick up at the airport and will provide all necessities you are unable to carry with you.

Patriot members may invite guests: please make sure that they understand our ALRA guidelines for dress and accoutrements that are appropriate for our time period of 1750-1815.

We will follow up with additional information as we get closer to the event.

We sincerely hope to see many of you in October, and we remain,

Your Most Humble & Obedient Servants,

Roy Katz, #218
Lieutenant, New-York Company,

Mark Walter, #253
First Sergeant, New-York Company
