I have been talking with some of the Utah boys and they are interested in doing a 30 miler in 2012. I know this is a long way out. Without a "competant" gunsmith giving a look see I would no way shoot it. It looks ok in the pics however the breech should be inspected!

Sorry meant the lock marks not the barrel marks. do you think the "RSA" could be CSA Confederate States Of America "huzzah"

There was a surplus store in new york after the civil war that reworked alot of thewe old muskets. It has some resemblences to a springfield. However the lock plate would be marked if that were the case. I would almost think confederate. You could trace it by the barrel proof marks if you really wan...

Thanks we had a great time.

The western was grand. We did not have time to shoot the gauntlet at the gathering, we put your pouch in the raffle. A greenhorn won it. I dont recall his name.
